GNIDA reviews status of defaulting allottees, collects Rs 100 crore

16 Sep 2016

realestate-2-copy12GREATER NOIDA: Greater Noida Industrial development Authority (GNIDA) held a meeting on Thursday to review the status of defaulting allottees in the city.  Deepak Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), GNIDA said that warnings of strict consequences to the defaulter property owners seems to be having an effect. In the last fortnight, GNIDA has collected Rs 100 crores from the defaulters, he said.

"We are monitoring and urging all defaulting allottees to apply for the amnesty policy or face strict consequences," he added. According to officials, on reviewing the situation on Thursday, it was found that out of the 95 defaulting group housing builders, 68 had submitted their applications to GNIDA. "Out of these four builders have also deposited their first installment of outstanding dues," said Agarwal. "In the commercial segment too, four out of the ten big defaulters have put in their applications for availing the rescheduled payment policy," he said.

As per Agarwal, in the last 15 days, GNIDA has collected about Rs 100 crores from the defaulters. "The situation is expected to improve and look up by the end of this month and by October end as we will collect more dues by then. One month's time is given to allottees who apply for the rescheduled payment plan from the date of application," he explained.

The CEO further said in the IT sector, the response has not been so good. "Only five out of fifty defaulters have put in their applications for the amnesty plan," Agarwal told. "There are a large number of allotted plots, which are lying vacant. We have already issued notices to 20 allottees warning them that GNIDA will be cancelling their plots as they have defaulted not only on payments but on multiple issues including layout approvals, completions, lease rents, etc," he said. "We have warned these allottees that we will be cancelling their allotments by the end of the month," he said.
